This extended fermentation natural lot is from Mulhuma in the Rwenzori mountain region of western Uganda.
Mulhuma is a small, hard to reach trading centre situated at 1,600masl in the mountains.
The centre works with 1,161 local smallholder farmers, providing a vital connection to export markets for this remote community.
It is especially hard to reach Mulhuma in the rainy season due to the poor condition of the roads. When the roads aren't suitable, donkeys are used to transport fresh cherry to the colelction point.
